In February, Elizabeth Carpenter, who studies flute with Kimberly Trolier at the Conservatory, participated in the All-Catholic High School Band Festival as fifth-chair flutist.

Maureen Carpenter, a student of Daina Dodbiba, was pianist of the E. T. Richardson Middle School Jazz Band in the 2016-17 academic year and performed in the school’s spring concert.

Suzanne Carpenter, a senior at Archbishop John Carroll High School and a piano student of Marcantonio Barone, is the Music Director of Springfield Baptist Church in Delaware County.  Suzanne was the winner of the 2017 Alma V. Drumm Piano Competition.

Soprano Ritu Chaturvedi, who studies with Kathryna Barone, performed as a soloist at the prestigious London Bel Canto Festival in August.

During the 2016-17 season, Marcus Chiang, a student of Ronald Lipscomb, performed as a cellist in the Friends Central Middle School Orchestra.

Last year, Katie De Medio, a voice student of Perry Brisbon and piano student of Mackenzie Carlson, performed the role of Mother Abbess in Archbishop John Carroll High School’s production of The Sound of Music.  Katie is now a vocal-performance major at Temple University.

Emily Han, a voice student of Kathryna Barone and piano student of Marcantonio Barone, sang Adolphe Adam’s “Cantique de Noël” as soloist with Radnor High School’s Meistersingers at their winter concert.  This semester, Emily matriculates at Bard College in Annandale-on-Hudson, New York.

William Huang, a trumpet student of Frank Ferraro and piano student of Marcantonio Barone, was third trumpet in the Tamanend Middle School Jazz Band, which got a superior rating at the Penndale Jazz Festival.  William also played trumpet in the Central Bucks District Honors Band.

In the 2016-17 season, as a freshman at Ridley High School, Carlee Ingelido, who studies voice with Kathryna Barone, sang as a soloist in the Select Choir’s spring concert and performed six different roles in the school’s production of Les Misérables.

Maggie Kim, a piano student of Marcantonio Barone, accompanied fellow students at the All-School Chapel at Delaware County Christian School in December.  This spring, Maggie performed Salomon Jadassohn’s Notturno for flute and piano with a fellow student at a school concert.

Jinren Lin-Zhang, a piano student of Laurie Ticehurst, played keyboard in the Radnor Middle School Band during the 2016-17 school year.

Longan Loi, a piano student of Marcantonio Barone, accompanied the Upper Dublin High School Chorus in their winter and spring concerts.  In December, Longan performed in, and hosted, a benefit concert for the Hope for Henry Foundation at Jacobs Music in Willow Grove.  He also performed in three concerts of the Book Bridge Club at area retirement communities.

Christopher Palmer, who studies piano with Marcantonio Barone and theory and composition with Andrew Desiderio, played a piano solo at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Choir’s Christmas Concert at Maris Grove in Glen Mills.  In the spring, Christopher played the piano part of John Mackey’s 2015 composition Lightning Field with the Ruston High School Concert Band.

Sang-Hee Park, a voice student of Perry Brisbon, performed as an ensemble member in Radnor High School’s spring musical, The Wizard of Oz.

Cheryl Platco, Music Director at St. Helena Church in Blue Bell and a piano student of Alexander Panku at the Conservatory, organized, and performed in, the Church’s annual Christmas concert.  Ms. Platco also played for community Easter services.  She often serves as an accompanist for public-school choirs.

Last November, Mary Punshon appeared with the Rose Valley Chorus and Orchestra in the title role of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Iolanthe.  In May, she performed with the Main Line Opera Guild in a concert of operatic scenes at Stage One in Wallingford.  Ms. Punshon studies at the Conservatory with Kathryna Barone.

Ved Radhakrishnan, an eleven-year-old student of Mackenzie Carlson, performed two of his own piano compositions at a Hindu festival in March 2017.

This spring, Dr. Elizabeth Rappaport, a voice student of Perry Brisbon and theory student of Andrew Desiderio, sang Verdi’s Quattro Pezzi Sacri with Temple University’s Community Choir in Verizon Hall at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts.

Emily Lasker Reich, a voice student of Kathryna Barone, sings with Nashirah, the only all-audition choir in the Philadelphia area that focuses on music by Jewish composers and themes.  This past March, she sang with the choir at Andrea Clearfield’s Music Salon in Philadelphia; next March, she will sing at the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts as soloist with Nashirah.

Zachary Root, a student of Laurie Ticehurst, was the pianist for a 2017 production of Assignment Earth at the Penn Valley Middle School.

During the 2016-17 school year, Noa Spanier, a viola student of John Sergovic at the Conservatory, performed as a member of the Bala Cynwyd Middle School Chamber Orchestra.

Adrienne Tuft, a student of John Sergovic, played in concerts throughout the year as a member of the first-violin section of the Haverford Middle School Sixth-Grade Orchestra.

As a member of the Haverford Middle School’s Seventh Heaven Choir, AvaGrace Tuft, who studies voice with Kathryna Barone and piano with Daina Dodbiba, sang the national anthem at a Phillies game in April.  AvaGrace has been accepted into Haverford High School’s Choir for the 2017-18 school year.

In 2017, Noah Xu, a student of Mackenzie Carlson, became the pianist for the Lab Jazz Band at Welsh Valley Middle School.

Justin Yeo, who currently studies with Marcantonio Barone, is the pianist of the Delaware County Youth Orchestra and a pianist in the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra.  Last fall, Justin performed the first movement of Paul Hindemith’s Sonata for Bassoon and Piano with a fellow student at Conestoga High School.  In June, he won first prize in the senior division of the Chopin Youth Piano Competition in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Andy Zeng, who studies piano with Daina Dodbiba at the Conservatory, accompanied the seventh-grade chorus at the Tredyffrin-Easttown Middle School in their winter and spring concerts.

In July, Eric Zhao, a piano student of Marcantonio Barone and theory student of Andrew Desiderio, gave a recital at Rosemont Presbyterian Village.

Michelle Zhai, a student of John Sergovic, was first-chair violist in the Sky View Upper Elementary School Orchestra in the 2016-17 season.
